The ford 6.4 liter diesel is a fairly good engine but has problems that can lead to catastrophic effects. The re-generation set up is the cause of the turbo failures and other problems. This re-generation process pulls the carbon particles back into the engine to go through the combustion process once again. This process cause the filter to get clogged up and cause pressure back-up into the motor to cause large engine failure.
